Whether you're assisting with meeting registration, helping with student scholarships, contacting potential speakers, or supporting diversity initiatives, committee participation is a great way to contribute to the overall success of HRACO.
Communication Plans and executes semi-annual networking events (spring and fall) for the Association, including venue selection, schedule, networking activity, refreshments, etc. Works with Arrangements Manager on venue/refreshments, and with Advertising Manager on sponsorship opportunities. Serve as a contact for reporters who want to speak with HR professionals regarding HR and workplace related issues/trends. Your expertise and experiences are valuable resources and help to promote a positive image of our profession. HRACO's media coordinator will call you prior to you receiving a call from a reporter. Please indicate the inquiries to which you are interested in responding. Works to connect HRACO to the community through events in education, government affairs and community service. Coordinates the Annual Silent Auction event benefiting the SHRM foundation
Diversity Compiles information for monthly Diversity Corner page in the newsletter and on the website. Initiates and coordinates diversity activities, seminars and programs.
Hospitality/Orientation Coordinates and hosts the new member orientations and receptions. Welcomes members to meetings and responds to inquiries concerning location of meeting rooms, vendor hosts, tickets, cloak rooms, etc.
HRACO Speakers Bureau Provides speakers to area high school, colleges, and universities on a variety of HR topics. Please list your speaker topic.
Legislative Monitors state and federal HR related legislation and coordinates our grass roots letter writing campaign. Provides opportunities for HRACO members to meet local legislators through statehouse visits, legislative roundtables and Lobby Day. The committee meets 3-4 times per year.
Newsletter Prepares monthly meeting announcements and monthly newsletter.
Professional Development Coordinates seminars designed to assist HR professionals in developing and broadening their skills in HR management. Determines seminar topics, selects speakers and locations, and receives reservations.
Programming Coordinates monthly programs for meetings, including determining program topics, selecting speakers and preparing correspondence.
Student Services Manages the annual HR Scholarship awards for both undergraduate and masters degree candidates. Acts as a liaison to the local collegiate HRA chapters.
Workforce Readiness Provides career resources (such as speakers) to local high schools and youth groups. Administers the Education Grants for career development programs at the high school level. |
