Social Networking in HR: Headaches or Headway?

Date Start End Location   Event Registration
13 Apr 2010 11:15 AM 1:30 PM Fawcett Center
2400 Olentangy River Road
Columbus, OH 43210
Registration has ended.

Is social networking a big headache or a huge help for the HR function? It can be both. With an understanding of HR’s roles and responsibilities where this "here to stay" technology is concerned, HR has an opportunity to embrace social networking as a recruiting and employment branding tool to recruit candidates and build a pipeline of future candidates who already know about and are connected to your company.

Social networking is mistakenly assumed to be a time-wasting trend but studies and literature indicates otherwise. HR can be proactive and strategic by helping the company embrace social networking as a business building and visibility tool.

- Participants will be able to define what social networking is and is not in context to the business environment.

- A definition and overview of some of social networking channels will be presented.

- HR professionals will tie social networking to employment branding and recruiting through a 5-step process.

- A review of the key elements of a social networking policy will be presented.
