This seminar will explore the strategies, tools and best practices of the Employee Benefit industry to help attract and retain valuable employees.  It will provide a wide range overview of the employee benefits industry and current versus upcoming trends to better equip the participants with the tools to become better negotiators at the time of hiring and retaining their employees.  Additionally, we will review the results of the largest national benchmark survey to explore the current changes and shifts in the employee benefit industry.

Thomas Rubino, Partner and Consultant Mr. Rubino has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. His career began on the wholesale side with Great West Life and Annuity. In this capacity Mr. Rubino worked with brokers and consultants in designing partially self-funded (ASO) plans for companies with generally over 100 enrollees. Twelve years ago, Mr. Rubino joined Gardiner Allen DeRoberts team as a consultant. He brought 10 years of health care experience to the firm. When the entity ClearPath Benefit Advisors LLC was formed Mr. Rubino became a co-founder and partner of ClearPath. His expertise in negotiating directly with underwriters to obtain the most competitive financial results and assisting clients with controlling their health care expenditures has proven to be an asset in his function as a consultant. He specializes in designing benefit plans in accordance with client’s objectives and analyzing funding mechanisms that will meet the organizations fiscal goals while effectively communicating with senior leadership, union representatives, and internal committees, as well as the hourly employee. Mr. Rubino is a regular presenter to SHRM and HRACO members on the topics of National Plan Cost and Plan Design Benchmarks, Population Health Improvement Plans, and Health Care Reform. He has an Ohio Insurance License for Resident Major Lines (Accident & Health, Life and Variable).
