HRACO’s Student Services Committee is proud to support central Ohio’s local collegiate Human Resources Associations (HRA), undergraduate and graduate students studying Human Resources and students interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources. Our goals as a committee are to serve as student’s point of contact with HRACO; arrange speakers for HRA and other related association meetings; provide education about HRACO’s mentor and annual scholarship programs; and be an all-around professional resource for students.

At least one scholarship is awarded each year. The scholarships are awarded based on a number of factors including:

● Academic performance

● Demonstrated leadership

● Human Resources related experience

● Human Resources related extracurricular activities

● Career goals

In order to be considered eligible for a scholarship, the following requirements must be met:

● Must be a full-time student

● Must be pursuing a course of study or have a demonstrated interest related to the Human Resources field

● Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in your major, with a minimum of 2.75 overall

● Prior HRACO scholarship recipients are not eligible

● Submission of all documentation.

● Must attend a college/university located in central Ohio or reside in Central Ohio and attend a college/university online

HRACO also has an incredible Mentor Program. The basis of the Mentor Program is very simple. It is designed for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in Human Resources who want to learn how their studies apply outside the academic world. Students are matched with HR professionals from HRACO who serve as mentors for the students.

Typical involvement for a mentor involves resume review, interview preparation, mock interviewing, job shadowing, networking, attending HRACO luncheons, attending HRACO networking events, attending HRACO Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings, Skype meetings, email correspondence on HR topics and/or anything else that might work between the mentor and mentee to make the mentorship valuable.

The program runs from October through the end of April (most of the academic year) and to make the program work, we would expect monthly contact between the mentor and mentee. Visit the

Student memberships are available for $25 per year for individuals meeting the following criteria:

  • ARE NOT currently working in a professional capacity.
  • Are actively enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree program at an accredited college or university, with an interest in Human Resources.
  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled a minimum of 12 credit hours per quarter/semester
  • Graduate students must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credit hours per quarter/semester.

Each applicant for Student Membership shall be required to complete a Student Membership Application form.

All submissions must confirm that the applicant meets all of the Student Membership eligibility criteria.
Applications must but include applicant’s current employment and a current/recent academic schedule and enrollment status. This application process must be followed at initial application and for each annual renewal.

Once all documentation has been received and verified by HRACO, a student membership will be granted.
