The fall certification course is tentatively scheduled for 9/21 through 11/9. We are working with the venue to determine the best way to present the course while keeping everyone involved safe. While we hope to be able to meet face-to-face, we may simultaneously offer the course online. If necessary, though, the class will be online only, in a live format. Shortly after purchasing the course, we’ll order your login and physical books for the SHRM Learning System, and they will be sent to the address you provide when you register. You’ll get all the benefits of the SHRM Learning System, both online and the physical books, plus live instruction from a qualified HRACO instructor, for significantly less than if you purchase the Learning System directly from SHRM. Registration will open as soon as we can confirm the venue logistics. An email will go out to all HRACO members when registration opens. You must be a member of HRACO or join at the time you register to enroll in the HRACO SHRM Certification Course.

Course Format

HRACO’s SHRM Certification Review Course consists of 32 hours of face-to-face lecture presented over 8 consecutive weeks. Each 4 hour class is facilitated by a certified HR professional with expertise in the topics covered that evening. The SHRM Learning System materials, both online resources and printed books, provide the content for the course.

Class begins Monday, September 21, 2020. There are 8 sessions that run every Monday night, from September 21 through November 9, 2020.

Each class is 6-10PM. Classroom doors open at 5:45PM. Please plan to arrive so you are comfortably seated and ready to learn by 6PM. Class will start promptly at 6PM. Each class is scheduled for 4 hours, although some may be slightly shorter. There is one scheduled break each evening.

What to Wear

Please dress comfortably. Business casual is fine. Jeans are fine. You need to be comfortable to learn. With that in mind, keep in mind the class is filled with HR professionals in your area. You might end up working with or for someone in the room. I’ll be in jeans and a sweater.

Prepare in Advance of Class

Please keep in mind, this is a review course. You will get the most from each class if you read the materials in advance each week.

What to Expect Your First Night

Once you sign in at the lobby desk, it’s a short walk to the classroom.

You will be given a 1.5” binder that includes copies of all of the slides presented during the 8 week class. There’s plenty of room on each page to take notes. You should bring pens, pencils, highlighters, post-its - whatever works best for your style of learning.

You’re binder will also include our 8 week agenda and a contact list for all the participants.

A table adjacent to the classroom will have the snacks provided by HRACO.

Staying Connected

Class participants are also added to a group set up just for the class on the HRACO website. We will use the group to share files, post questions/answers, start discussions, etc.
